New Wireless Headphones!
Ok, these are pretty cool. I still love my noise-isolating earbuds, but at the gym I sometimes get tangled up and the wire just looks so cumbersome, y'know? So...I discovered these Wireless Headphones from Logitech. They use Bluetooth wireless to send audio to the headphones. Both the transmitter and the headphones use a rechargable battery and get their juice from a single AC Adapter with a split end so both can be charged at the same time. The sound is very good. Once in a while, there's a bit of a "pop." That may be from interference somewhere. After all, the air waves are pretty crowded these days. more...

Bose Speakers Really Kick Ass
Ok, I have some very nice stereo equipment at home. I don't normally expect something like the Speaker doc I bought for my iPod to compare so favorably. This little thing utterly kicks ass. There are no two ways about it. There's a great dynamic range, the iPod fits into it well. It looks very nice on the shelf in my library. The remote works from the other room when I sometimes sit with my computer.
Now...I just need to start creating better playlists so I can start my iPod and leave it alone. I guess I don't have all my jedi skills yet...

KIller Earbuds for people who don't like noise
I don't like big, bulky headphones and anything with a band up and over the head is big and bulky to me. The "around the back" headphones drive me insane because I can't sit comfortably on an airplane with those. The earbuds that come with the iPod are ok, but the drawback is they don't block out sound very well.
The obvious solution for me was a pair of sound isolating earbuds. I spoke with some friends and read some reviews and ended up buying a pair of the Shure e3 earbuds. They come with a bunch of silicone and foam pads so I was able to find the perfect fit for my small ear canals. They are a little on the expensive side, but when I'm in the gym, all I hear is my iPod. When I'm on an airplace, all I hear is my iPod. The sound is amazing too. Worth every penny, I think.
For those who find the price of the e3 a little steep, there's the e2 version.
And, for those who want earbuds that cost as much as the iPod itself, check out Shure's
e5 earbuds. I mean, why not? I'm sure they're great in some applications. For me, 99% of the stuff on my iPod is AudioBooks so I don't I'm going to notice the thundering base of Tony Bordain read Kitchen Confidential.

I dig my iPod
I love my Apple iPod, so this blog is dedicated to my iPod and the random gear I buy (read: accumulate) in association with it. It's just how it all works, eh? Hopefully this will help others as occasionally I do buy something that looked cool and turns out to be a piece of crap (in my opinion, of course), so I'll be certain to share that here.
